A small-batch bourbon from Cutwater, rich with caramel, vanilla and oak.
What it is
Cutwater Devil's Share Bourbon is a small-batch straight bourbon bottled at 92 proof (46% ABV) in a 750 ml bottle.
Where and how it's made
- Made by Cutwater Spirits, the award-winning distillery and canned-cocktail maker in San Diego, California
- Distilled from a corn-heavy mash and aged in new charred American oak barrels
- Released in small batches
- Named for the "devil's share", the whiskey lost to the barrel during aging, as opposed to the angel's share lost to evaporation
Tasting notes
- Nose: caramel, vanilla and toasted oak
- Palate: rich and full, with brown sugar, baking spice, dried cherry and honey
- Finish: long, warm and gently spicy
Serving and pairing
Sip neat or with a single ice cube, or mix into an Old Fashioned or Manhattan. Pairs with barbecue, grilled steak, aged cheddar and bread pudding. Store the bottle upright in a cool, dark place, away from direct sunlight and heat.
