A pale pink blanco tequila finished briefly in Napa Cabernet barrels.
What it is
Código 1530 Rosa is a blanco tequila rested for about one month in French white oak Napa Cabernet barrels, which give it its soft pink color. Bottled at 80 proof (40% ABV), it pairs fresh agave with a delicate fruitiness.
Where and how it's made
- Made in Arandas, in the highlands of Jalisco, Mexico, from 100% blue Weber agave
- Agave is cooked slowly and fermented with natural yeasts, with no additives
- Bottled at 80 proof (40% ABV) in Código 1530's heavy, hand-finished glass bottle
- Rested about one month in Napa Cabernet barrels for its pink color
Tasting notes
- Nose: fresh agave, red berries and light floral notes
- Palate: smooth and lightly sweet, with cooked agave, strawberry and a touch of oak
- Finish: clean, soft and fruity
Serving and pairing
Sip chilled or on the rocks, or use it in a margarita or a paloma. Pairs with ceviche, shrimp, fruit salads and light summer dishes. Store the bottle upright in a cool, dark place, away from direct sunlight and heat.
