French vodka made from two ingredients, soft winter wheat and spring water, for a soft, polished pour.
What it is
Grey Goose is an unflavored premium wheat vodka from France, bottled at 80 proof (40% ABV). Available in 750 ml and 375 ml bottles.
Where and how it's made
- Distilled from single-origin soft winter wheat grown in Picardie, northern France, often called the country's breadbasket
- The spirit is blended in the Cognac region with limestone-filtered spring water drawn from the brand's own well in Gensac-la-Pallue
- The whole process stays in France, from milling the grain to bottling
Tasting notes
- Nose: clean and fresh, with soft cereal and a hint of citrus
- Palate: smooth and lightly creamy, with gentle almond and wheat sweetness
- Finish: crisp, long and slightly peppery
Serving and pairing
Built for martinis (shaken very cold with a lemon twist), vodka sodas and Moscow mules, and clean enough to sip straight from the freezer. Pair with oysters, caviar, smoked fish or sushi.
Recognition
Scored 96 points and ranked top among more than 40 vodkas in a 1998 blind tasting by the Beverage Testing Institute (Chicago).
