What it is
Cruzan Aged Light Rum is a white rum bottled at 80 proof (40% ABV) in a 750 ml bottle. It is aged up to two years in oak barrels, then charcoal-filtered to remove the color.
Where and how it's made
- Made at the Cruzan distillery on St. Croix, U.S. Virgin Islands
- Distilled from molasses in a five-column still
- Produced by the Nelthropp family, who have made rum on St. Croix for eight generations
Tasting notes
- Nose: light vanilla, coconut and a hint of tropical fruit
- Palate: clean and smooth, with soft vanilla, light sugar cane sweetness and subtle oak
- Finish: crisp and dry
Serving and pairing
Mix into a mojito, daiquiri, piña colada or rum and cola. Pairs with jerk chicken, fish tacos, grilled shrimp and tropical fruit. Store the bottle upright in a cool, dark place, away from direct sunlight and heat.
