A rare, layered tequila blend from Clase Azul, presented in a striking hand-painted decanter.
What it is
Clase Azul Gold is a 100% agave tequila bottled at 80 proof (40% ABV) in a 750 ml decanter. It blends a blanco tequila with an extra añejo aged in sherry casks and a reposado finished in French wine casks.
Where and how it's made
- Made in Jalisco, Mexico, from slow-cooked blue Weber agave
- Agave is roasted in traditional brick ovens for 72 hours and fermented with Clase Azul's own yeast
- The decanter is handcrafted and hand-decorated by artisans in Mexico
Tasting notes
- Nose: cooked agave, dried fruit, vanilla and toasted oak
- Palate: rich and silky, with candied orange, caramel, cinnamon and sweet agave
- Finish: long, warm and elegant
Serving and pairing
Sip it neat from a snifter or tasting glass, slowly, to enjoy its layers. Pairs with dark chocolate, crème brûlée, aged cheeses and a fine cigar. Store the bottle upright in a cool, dark place, away from direct sunlight and heat.
