An eight-year-old aged rum with rich fruit and spice, smooth enough to sip.
What it is
Bacardi Reserva Ocho is an aged rum bottled at 80 proof (40% ABV) in a 750 ml bottle, aged for at least eight years.
Where and how it's made
- Made by Bacardi at its distillery in Cataño, Puerto Rico; the company was founded in Santiago de Cuba in 1862
- Distilled from molasses and fermented with Bacardi's own yeast strain
- Aged in oak barrels in the Caribbean climate, which speeds up maturation
Tasting notes
- Nose: dried fruit, caramel, vanilla and nutmeg
- Palate: rich and rounded, with apricot, toffee and oak spice
- Finish: long and warm, with gentle oak
Serving and pairing
Sip neat or on the rocks, or use it in a rum Old Fashioned or Manhattan. Pairs with roast pork, dark chocolate and crème brûlée.
