What it is
Casamigos Mezcal Joven is a 100% Espadín agave mezcal bottled at 80 proof (40% ABV) in a 750 ml bottle. Joven means it is unaged, so the agave and smoke come through clearly.
Where and how it's made
- Made from Espadín agave grown 8 to 9 years in Oaxaca, Mexico
- Agave hearts are roasted in earthen pits, then crushed with a stone tahona
- Double distilled for a smooth, balanced smoke
Tasting notes
- Nose: light smoke, herbs and citrus
- Palate: balanced and smooth, with roasted agave, pepper, citrus and a hint of sweetness
- Finish: long and gently smoky
Serving and pairing
Sip neat with orange slices, or use it in a mezcal margarita or Negroni. Pairs with grilled meats, tlayudas, chorizo and dark chocolate. Store the bottle upright in a cool, dark place, away from direct sunlight and heat.
